“Can I Touch It?” White Women + Black Hairstyles by Edina Beal
Endia Beal took a few middle aged strangers on a trip to a black hair salon down the street for a make-over, gave them new “black” hairdo’s, and then took their portrait.
The rules were simple: After getting their new styles, the women had to agree to be photographed in a traditional corporate portrait, even if they weren’t happy with the result.
