my grandmother was born at colditz castle before it was used as a place to jail all the best allied p.o.w. escapees. somehow, it didn’t occur to the nazis that it might not be the greatest idea for them to put some of the most brilliant minds all together in one place like that? the story is actually really amazing, and i encourage everyone to go read about it. yep.
