A few days ago, thanks to one Tumblr post the Autism Speaks page on Facebook went from 3.9 stars all the way down to 1.4 stars. It has started to become something of a victory in the autism community after many years of Autism Speaks trying to silence us.

However earlier this morning they decide to disable their rating system so that people would not notice their star rating and realize how bad they are. They did not bother responding, instead they choose to take the cowards way out and silence us once again.

So I urge everyone who reads this to spread the message and not let Autism Speaks get away with this, we cannot be silenced, we WILL not be silent. They are not going to get away this time.

A Jihadist extremist told this female Lebanese news anchor to shut up, so she cut off his microphone.

Karaki was interviewing Hani Al-Seba’i about the phenomenon of Christians joining Islamic groups like ISIS. Al-Seba’i is a Sunni scholar who fled to London after he was sentenced in an Egyptian court to 15 years in prison for being a part of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad. The United Nations considers the group to be an affiliate of al Qaeda.

But despite Al-Seba’i’s extreme ties, Karaki didn’t back down when he disrespected her on Al-Jadeed TV after she politely tried to redirect his historical tangent. Instead of taking his guff, she cut off his microphone when she decided she’d had enough.

I tell my students, ‘When you get these jobs that you have been so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else. This is not just a grab-bag candy game.‘
