Reminder that model Emma Appleton had to delete her twitter presence/web presence but Terry Richardson and Vogue magazine doesn’t have to answer to anyone.

Today’s Dandy is the man who wears a tweed suit every other day and participates in the cult of meticulous grooming (that has also developed in tandem with this aesthetic). His multiple copies of Take Ivy ally him with classic Americana and the masculine tradition it underscores. His accessories are part of a strong, virile iconography and none of them are seen as feminine, which would be a mortal threat to the entire enterprise contemporary menswear has orchestrated.
do men have resting bitch faces as well or do they not have negative characteristics ascribed to them for putting on a neutral rather than a deliriously happy facial expression
FASHION: Iris Van Herpen Fall/Winter 2014
the artist Lawrence Malstaf, a specialist in the interaction between biology and physicality, collaborated with Iris Van Herpen on an installation that had models suspended in the air in what looked like oversized plastic bags with accordion shaped hoses running down the sides.
society as a whole seems to be a lot more accepting of lesbians and lesbian reletionships than gays and gay relationships, whats your opinion?
I think that’s nonsense, and that people see fetishization and think “representation!”
People see a gay couple as the standard. They might not /like/ gay couples, but they’re going to at least admit that they are a couple, that there’s not much to be done about it; they respect their autonomy, even if they hate the idea of two men together.
A lesbian, or two women together, is seen as invalid. They don’t get as much hatred (maybe—I’ve seen people physically attack a butch/femme couple I knew for being “dykes”), but they’re also not taken as seriously.
A man says “I’m gay”, that’s that. A woman says “I’m a lesbian”, the reaction is “thats hot can I watch?”
It’s to the point where I’ve been told it’s “inappropriate” to mention, in PASSING, that I’m a lesbian, because it’s “not workplace appropriate”. And yet, I worked in travel—dyou know how many gay dudes there are in TRAVEL??! Shhhhhhit. None of them got told it was “inappropriate”, because their sexuality isn’t seen as up for the consumption of others.
A man saying “I can fuck you straight, you’ll see” isn’t embracing my lesbianism, he’s seeing it as a challenge. If I were butch, he’d see it as a threat.
There’s no privilege in being someone’s masturbation material.
